  Pesticides Under the GWPA Program

The following pesticide active ingredients have been found in California’s drinking water from legal agricultural use and are listed in Section 6800(a) in Title 3 of the California Code of Regulations (3 CCR).

- Atrazine (Aatrex)
- Bentazon (Basagran)
- Bromacil (Hyvar, Krovar)
- Diuron except products with less than 7% diuron that are applied to foliage (Karmex, Krovar).
- Norflurazon (Solicam, Predict, Zorial)
- Prometon (Pramitol)
- Simazine (Princep)

Pesticide products labeled for agricultural, outdoor institutional, or outdoor industrial uses that contain any of these active ingredients require a permit when used in GWPAs.

Other chemicals also have the potential to move to groundwater, but have not been detected in groundwater samples. Hence, although they are included in 3 CCR section 6800(b), they do not require a permit for use.

Remember, for the GWPA regulations to apply, you must be using one of the above pesticides AND be applying them in a Designated GWPA.

I've checked and I want to use one of the listed pesticides.
